Art is an important expression of ourselves and for a child, is one of their earliest methods of communicating their thoughts and ideas. Art should be offered to the child in two ways. Through providing quality materials, with which the child can explore colour, texture and line, and through providing the child access to the most impressive art we can present. Degas' ballerinas, Van Gogh's sunflowers, Monet's waterlillies, not because we are encouraging artistic snobbery, but because each child deserves to explore the best our world can produce.
